Black Hills High invited to screen at University of Melbourne

EXHIBITION. not THAT place: art vs stigma

The exhibited artwork was generated in collaboration with communities living in Melbourne’s western and Hobart’s northern suburbs, as part of an art-research project that we have conducted over the past few years: ‘Challenging place-based stigma’, funded by the Australian Research Council.  Lucien Simon has been invited as a guest artist to exhibit the web series ‘Black Hills High’ as similar themes arose from the work he did with young people from Hobart’s eastern suburbs.

The work that has been curated for this exhibition offers unexpected, provocative and delightful insights into creativity in Australia’s diverse suburban heartlands.

Exhibition event: Thu 1st Dec 4.30-6.30pm (Artist talk at 5pm)

Exhibition open: 30th Nov, 1st Dec & 2nd Dec from 11am-5pm
